We grow and bale our own hay. We have an all-grass mixture containing timothy, orchard, brome and entophyte-free tall fescue, recommended by Dr Norm Evans for alpacas. We have our hay nutritionally tested with each cutting and we GUARANTEE NO MOLD. We store our hay in our large barn away from the damage of rain and direct sunlight.
Leading authorities in alpaca nutrition recommend good quality grass hay rather than one containing alfalfa.

Alfalfa has a higher protein level which can cause excessive weight gain and health problems in alpacas.

We sell out quickly, so please call for availability and pricing. Customer pick up is encouraged with an appointment.

Much discussion has arisen of late amongst alpaca breeders over LGDs. It is becoming increasingly apparent that we need more than just a good fence to protect our herds. When asked about predators, most people think about coyotes, wolves and mountain lions. The truth is, the most likely threat to an alpaca is a dog. Wild dogs as well as your neighbor’s loving pet are equally lethal to the unprotected alpaca. Ideally, LGDs are raised with the animals it will protect. It bonds with them to the point that it will put itself in harm’s way to defend them. Many alpaca breeders believe that LGDs are just as important to your herd as shelter and fencing.

We have two Anatolian Shepherd LGDs. Our male, Kenai, has been neutered, and currently lives with our studs and junior herdsires. Our female, Nala, lives with our dams and crias. Nala is still reproductively intact while we try to decide whether or not we will breed her. She should be mature in the spring of 2008.

We have three beautiful herd sires that we co-own with Ray and Maria Rodriguez of Leraso Farm Alpacas. We are willing to do drive-by breedings or the traditional farm breeding. All breedings include an ultrasound confirmation, #day live cria guarantee.

In the alpaca world boarding is called agisting. All alpaca purchases from KFF Suri Alpacas include one year of free agisting. After that a maximum charge of $5 per day will apply. Any vet fees or other out-of-the ordinary costs are not included and will be billed monthly. Services of agisting include normal worming, vaccinations, nail trimming and feed costs.

We want you to feel comfortable that we will treat your alpacas as our own. We promise to give you regular updates on your boarded animals either by phone, mail or email. We plan to add web cameras to the barn, so you can view your alpacas whenever you like.
